Only place in NRV worth going for Chinese food.

This has been my go to Chinese place since I moved to Blacksburg, but twice now in the last month I've ordered online for delivery and been charged only to be told upon calling after a 90+ minute wait that something went wrong in the system and my food hadn't even been made yet.

ordered general tsos tofu and white rice. got pork fried rice instead. everything was dry and over cooked. immediately had stomach ache.

Placed an order online, over an hour later and no food. Very unimpressed with speed of service and helpfulness of staff (we called 40 minutes in to check on the food and were told "it's almost there.")Update: after getting our food we were also unimpressed. The spring rolls are awful, and the other food was alright.

Online ordering with a delivery or pickup option is great. No matter your main course, you should be starting it with their Wonton Soup.

I'v had worse only once. The food lacked flavor. Have you ever wanted to put salt on takeout Chinese food before? We ordered 3 dishes, Shrimp and veggies, chicken with almond and Mongolian Beef. None were very good. The restaurant looks dirty and there are boxes all around the dining area. My 1 year old found a bottle of antifreeze or some other automotive fluid sitting in the front window so my wife had to take him to the car. I would not recommend.

It's a scam. The general tsos chicken portions are large because they're terrible. They taste microwaved and the chicken is dry. The Carolina reaper wings have some flavor, but they're definitely not made with actual reapers, it tastes like birds eye chili. I will be getting my money back, don't you worry.

Food was 1 hr 45 to get here on a Monday. It was cold and bad tasting. Driver got lost. And the lied about it. Blamed the manager.

Very bad service and delivery...took 1 hour 24 minutes to get to meals on a Monday night...will never do business at this plave again and will tell others the same

Best chinese restaurant in Blacksburg possibly NRV. Been enjoying it since 2012.

they have the best egg rolls and shrimp toasts. they have a certain passion and i consider this place a valuable addition to the region. good portions and fast delivery. the only drawback is that not everything on the menu is edible and they will mess up your food on a very regular basis.

I got vegetable fried rice and spring rolls. The spring rolls were not very good, and the rice was average at best.

Chinese Kitchen has the standard Americanized dishes that you'll always expect from takeout places. It is good food, however. Portions are generous and you'll have leftovers to enjoy. Prices are also very reasonable. I've not had a complaint with the food nor the delivery, and we order from here fairly often. A solid spot for quick Chinese takeout.

Good food and great people

Nothing bad about it, it is just bland. Got broccoli beef and vegetable fried rice, and I can feel they put some sauce on it, but it doesn't taste like there is any sauce.After getting about half way through the food, I decided I needed to edit this review, because I couldn't express it enough. If you go to the store, toss a slab of beef and any sauce you find into a pan, you'll probably end up with something more interesting.Find a bag of fried rice or a bag of pre-cooked chicken in a grocery store and you've already got something that is probably better.Qdoba, chiptole, panda express, they're on an order of magnitude better than this because they actually have a test. You might not like it, but at least they go for something.Put in a small amount of hot peppers, find out what is making the sauce seem watery and find out why the beef seems like it was boiled, and then it would probably be good. I probably still wouldn't consider it worth the money, but it needs some substance.

Solidly average Chinese fast food with large portions, low price tag, and near-average quality. Nothing special, but then again, when was there ever in America a 5-star Chinese fast food place with $6 lunch specials?

Terrible delivery service. I have ordered twice from Chinese Kitchen. The first time delivery took 1hr 15 min. I thought I would try one more time. Big mistake this time it took 2 hrs, I was refused a receipt, and the food was cold. I do not recommend this place at all.

2019-06-04 Update: Watch out the Chinese style customized dishes (offered on a separate menu in Chinese). The portions of these dishes are small and the prices are high. No highlight for the taste.2019-02-13 Update: Tried newly added BBQ. Authentic Chinese style, but the meat could be tenderer.A small place serving home-style American-Chinese cuisines. The quality and the taste of the food there match well with the price. Of course there are other better American-Chinese restaurants to go in Blacksburg, but you get what you paid!Highlight: The owners were pretty friendly and charming.

Lunch special is phenomenal. Can be pretty crowded, small seating area, generally take out is the way to go!

Terribly rude staff: screaming in the kitchen, EXTREMELY rude cashier lady, and they had some boy playin games on his phone cursing loudly all while there were customes there. Never coming back here

My daughter and i do not drive so we live restaurants that deliver! We ordered from here for the first time and were very pleasantly surprised on all levels. The menu we received in the mail wad diverse for a Chinese take out restaurant. We were intrigued by the Dim Sum and decided to order two of those, the Steamed Bun with Pork and the Shrimp Dumplings were excellent! The House Special LoMein in was good but paled in comparison to the Dim Sum. The staff were also pleasant, the order was taken quickly and the order came rather quickly. Looking forward to trying some more of their dishes!

I ordered a large medium spicy fried rice. I received a fired rice with jalapeños and it was delicious. The guy taking order was very nice person.

Was in Blacksburg for nearly a week, helping a friend do a construction job. I went by myself to Chinese Kitchen and ordered a lo' mien dish. The lo' mien dish came with carrots, even though I told them don't add carrot. When I complained and told them to remake it, the owner told me he couldn't understand what I was saying. After waiting for about 5 minutes, I heard him speaking to a customer over the phone. As another reviewer said, the owner is a dirty liar. His English is really good. I told him I wanted a refund and asked him why he lied. He didn't say anything. He just handed me my money and waved his hand at me like he was shooing away a fly. Very rude and the owner is a liar. Don't listen to anything the owner says.

It's Chinese food! This is a source of cheap and tasty Chinese food.

Food is good. They will modify recipe a bit if requested. Cluttered and poor appearance inside restaurant with friendly staff.

Chinese Kitchen has the BEST shrimp rolls I have ever eaten! Reminds me very much of the shrimp rolls I use to get from a Chinese restaurant that has long since closed. I never thought I’d find shrimp rolls that could compare, but Chinese Kitchen fits the bill! Fast and friendly service, plus they deliver even out of the Town limits!

Truly amazing customer service! We pulled up at 10:30 pm & they were locking up. But graciously allowed us to order. Considering they close at 10, we felt they went above & beyond. And the food is delicious!

Good food... point blank period

Fast and tasty, with friendly staff who will tailor your order if you ask (I recommend adding vegs to their meat/noodle-heavy dishes). The decor is minimal, but it seems most people do takeout.

Perhaps I expected too much having grown up in the DC metro area, but the "dim sum" items here are not fresh made at all. It seems all they did was buy the frozen dim sum items in Oasis, heated them up, and sold them at 30% markup. You're better off driving 3 miles down the road to Oasis and saving yourself money and the disappointment of expecting something more.

Bland food arrived 2 hours after ordering. I am 8 minutes from the restaurant. Delivery driver was rude. First and LAST time eating here. Used Preorder so that it would arrive at 10:45. When it did not arrive, I called the restaurant and they said something happened with the driver so they were sending it out again (after reading other reviews, this is a lie and they are consistently hours late delivering food). The second driver called because when they resent out the order they put the wrong address down. It arrived at 11:33 and the driver was rude and mad about the address which was the restaurant's fault. He literally shoved the food into my arms. On top of that, the food is bland. Not worth the wait or the $20.

Gross. Genuinely inedible. Seems like we were given something that was tasteless to begin with (super bland) and had been reheated in a microwave multiple times. If the food was fresh, I have no idea how you screw it up that bad. If it wasn't fresh, why was it served to us? Some of the pictures on google really worry me, too. If I'd seen them, I would not have ordered from this restaurant. Now that I have, I can't recommend this to anybody. I wouldn't feed this junk to livestock. Live and learn, I suppose.

Takeout Chinese that doesn't veer far from what you'd expect. Portions are large and the prices are reasonable. Flavors are nothing surprising but are generally good. Compared to other local Chinese places, it stands near the top.

Food here is disgusting and the service was awful. When we ordered beef and broccoli, we had to return because we thought they had messed up our order. We were then told that our discolored meat was in fact beef, and that's just how they cook it. They said if we don't like, not to order it again (obviously I wouldn't) but we didn't receive any replacement for it. Even the rolls seemed sketchy, so for now, I will be avoiding this place.

Prices are right but thats about all the good i can say

Worst lo mein I have ever eaten in my life! And I have eaten plenty of lo mein. I can't even begin to describe what it tasted like, other than it was just nasty! The lady at the hotel recommended it when I told her I was looking for Chinese. I should have read the reviews first.

Quick service, good food

Can’t believe this is still here. 10 years ago it was my favorite go to for Chinese takeout on Saturday evenings when I was a VT student living at the village like a mile down the road. Very good prices and a lot of good food. The fried rice and sesame chicken combo less than $10 was just awesome for a takeout place. Glad to see it’s still around. Whenever I’m around in Blacksburg every couple years or so I make sure to grab some and take to the hotel. I last had it 3 years ago, still the same as I remembered it. Good place. At least I think so.

I just ordered the orange flavored chicken. The meat was chewy and stretchy so I checked the meat after washing it off. It was brown, I almost vomited.

A regular stop every Sunday for lunch. Inexpensive, large portions. Self-serve hot tea and ice water. Lacks dining ambiance, but has a charm in it's own rustic way. Enjoy conversations with the owner and his family.

Below average food quality. Beef was difficult to chew and sesame chicken seemed like sweet and sour chicken with sesame seeds. Also, we ordered fried rice and received white rice and it was delivered with no soy sauce, utensils, napkins, etc. Very curt on the phone.

Took over an hour and a half to reach my house only a mile away. Food was cold upon arrival.
